Pbk., Hard Case Crime, 207pp.

This is another reprint of classic pulp crime stories by the excellent Hard Case Crime imprint. I think there are a number of other Westlake novels that may have made for a better reprint. The story involves man who is newly out of the Army and is just returned to the United States. He meets up with his father, who gets shot as they are driving down the highway. The novel shows us the man's consuming desire to get revenge on the killers and find out who they are. In the end the payoff for the reader is just okay.
