Gheorghe Muresan Is In The House

Muresan

Went to the Washington Wizards game the other night at the MCI Center. There is a certain homogeneity about the NBA experience at these modern arenas. They have the same layout, music, dancers, shows. I guess that ultimately what it boils down to is the game itself.

The opponents this night were the Trailblazers; a team that lacks a certain identity but is in the Western conference so can never be discounted. The game was exciting and ended in a Wizards victory - their fifth in a row. Washington puts a good team on the floor - their backcourt of Arenas and Hughes are fast and equally good ball handlers. Larry Hughes is incredible at making steals. He seems to know when a pass is coming and moves fluidly. They also get great contributions from Antawn (another Golden State connection) and the bench is solid and knows how to play defense.

All in all it was a great night and I got to see Gheorghe Muresan.

Update: The Wiz extended their streak to 6 last night by beating the Bucks on a last second buzzer beater from Larry Hughes. Tonight they get the (hopefully Nash-less) Suns at home in a matchup of the 2 highest scoring NBA teams. Check it.

Dude, sweet! Was Muresan just hanging out? Did you take that picture of him? You came to DC at the right time, since the Wizards are definitely pretty exciting this year. Are you feeling like you may become a fan?
